Through socially and environmentally responsible initiatives we are on a mission to engage 3Shape’s workforce to create long-term sustainable value through initiatives across the organization.

3Shape is on a sustainability journey, and we have a detailed plan of initiatives to put us on the right path.

Environmental Responsibility
  • Measuring our Greenhouse Gas emissions. Having completed our global Scope 1 and 2 emission calculations, we are now embarking on estimating our Scope 3 emissions.
  • Knowledge sharing with key business partners to lead a collective effort to lessen the environmental impact of the dental industry.
  • Identifying our environmental footprint with regards to waste generation sources, including non-hazardous as well as electronic and other hazardous waste categories.
Employee well-being & community relations
  • Implementing Peakon, a global survey tool, to track employee engagement and well-being.
  • Collaboration with ReDi School of Digital Integration to empower women with migrant backgrounds to pursue a career in tech.
  • Collaboration with Nordic Women in STEM to empower young women to join the STEM field.
Governance responsibility
  • Implementation of Dansk Industri’s Diversity Pledge to achieve a minimum of 40% of underrepresented gender in by 2030. We have set an earlier target of achieving 40% by 2027.
  • Launch of a global anonymous whistleblower system.
  • Screening of suppliers according to sustainability criteria to identify high-risk suppliers.

3Shape Key Results in 2022

Environmental Responsibility

2,986 tones CO₂e emissions from Scope 1 and 2.

3,829kg CO₂e emissions were avoided through the purchase of 1,281kg of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) through the Partner Plus Benefit program with Lufthansa Group.

Employee well-being & community relations

7.9 Employee Satisfaction Score.

8.2 Global Diversity & Inclusion Score.

DKK 650,000.00 was donated to the Danish Refugee Council in response to the war in Ukraine.

Governance responsibility

+1.2 million scans by active TRIOS scanners.

Driving industry-wide sustainable change
The healthcare industry is responsible for 4.4 % of the world’s net emissions. While dentistry is only a fraction of the healthcare industry, we contribute to this and have an obligation to contribute to the solution. We see this as an opportunity to drive sustainable change.​
Building a mindset from the inside
We strive to build the internal capacities and mindset required for enduring change. We understand that high sustainability ambitions require an ‘organizational change’ mindset. Internalization will allow us to build a strong foundation for continuous positive impact, developing from the bottom up rather than from the top down.
