Mandible full-arch restoration with monolithic restoration on six implants using a completely digital approach
The 45-year old patient described in this report had his maxilla restored previously with a full-arch metal-ceramic bridge on 6 implants, the restoration of the patient’s mandible is presented in the current report.
Solutions used: 3Shape TRIOS intraoral scanner, 3Shape Implant Studio software
The high-strength, aesthetic zirconia restoration had an excellent clinical fit due to superior accuracy in the intraoral scanning procedure.
PREVIEW OF THE CASE
Implant planning and virtual teeth extraction. Hopeless teeth are virtually extracted with four strategic teeth maintained to support a provisional restoration. Implant placement planned.
Tooth-supported surgical stent designed and milled. Tooth-supported surgical stent designed according to the virtual implant positions and a PMMA prototype prepared and milled for immediate implant loading.
PMMA 3D printed. PMMA prototype 3D-printed to verify functional and aesthetic parameters and also allow for any adjustments prior to the fabrication of the final restoration.
Benefit of full digital workflow for the lab. Fully digital (model-free) approach for the laboratory is time efficiency and accuracy of fit of the prepared restoration.
