Anterior aesthetic veneers using a digital workflow
The case report presents a patient with a diastema and failed composite restorations to correct excessive tooth wear and incisal chipping on teeth #8 and #9.
Treatment provider: Dr. Jonathan L. Ferencz
Solutions used: 3Shape TRIOS intraoral scanner, 3Shape Dental System
According to Dr. Ferencz, digital technologies eliminate the guesswork and inherent inaccuracies of analog processes and improve clinical workflows and efficiencies.
PREVIEW OF THE CASE
The patient was presented two treatment proposals virtually. She approved the proposed design for two single central veneers.
A 3D-printed model of the approved smile design is used to produce an analog silicone putty reduction matrix chairside, in an otherwise digital workflow. Dr. Ferencz discusses reduction guides in the case “comments.”
According to Dr. Ferencz, the level of predictability in the digital workflow, reduces clinical stress and anxiety, eliminates remakes and increases practice profitability.
