I initially applied for an entirely different position, but my language skills and work experience from both Germany and the US, along with the focus of my studies indicated a better fit as a liaison between 3Shape’s German speaking customers and the organization. My role in the company hasn’t been narrowly defined, which suits me well, as I have the chance to help shape it.
Having previously worked in a sales-driven organization with a tense and aggressive environment, I love it here. I work closely with customers and our developers in a relaxed yet productive atmosphere, where energy is channelled into innovative efforts and product development. Everybody welcomed me warmly and I immediately felt very well-received.
Although I haven’t been here long, I appreciate 3Shape as a very dynamic organization – still with the feel of a start-up. Employees have a voice, and there is room for us to help shape and take actual part in the continued development of the company. To me, this is one of the most attractive features of working at 3Shape.
3Shape employs a great diversity of people: the general level of education among employees is extremely high, and I have many international colleagues. We develop products that really stand out, and working in a company where people are smart and great at what they do is very important to me. Everybody sticks together to ensure that we continue to be ahead of our competition and can be proud of our products.
Finally, many employees have small children, and it is nice to see that the company recognizes the need for a healthy balance between work and family. So far, this is the best environment I have ever worked in.
