- Nationality: Italian
- Education: B.sc. International Economics, Sapienza University of Rome
- Joined 3shape: 2006
- Position: Key Account Manager, Marketing Assistant
My educational background in economics was probably not what brought me to 3shape; I used to work as a developer of video games, and then moved around for jobs in France. I then studied in Italy and Germany, and wrote my B.sc. thesis in Lithuania. While there, I visited Copenhagen a couple of times, and really liked it here.
I never fit any standard job profile, anyway, and one of the great things about 3Shape is that I am able to exploit all my skills, whether or not these were learned at university or in my spare time: I am fluent in English, French, German and obviously Italian, and am pretty sharp with PhotoShop and other design tools. This means that I am doing a lot of international marketing material by default, but my main task is being key account manager; looking after large customers, providing training, etc. I travel a lot - several times a month, worldwide.
This position is shaped exactly to fit me: 3Shape is a great workplace with a lot of freedom – it is very democratic; as an organization we do have structure, but there’s certainly a lot of room to move around. This really creates enthusiasm among team members.
What strikes me most with 3Shape is the passion that everybody seems to have – a true passion for what we do here. We have really great products and even though the competition is intense, we are far ahead. Business is good and our market is a very good place to be. Looking at our resources, I really see no technological boundaries for what we can do. This is the stuff that keeps me motivated.
We have a very good work environment and a great office: Lots of open space and no walls – in every sense of the word. There is always room for discussion, and there is a lot of trust. It is very hard to get bored here.
