Basic Training

Introduction

This document describes the major content of the 3shape basic Dental System training. The objective of the course is to provide the attendees the ability to successfully and efficiently operate the 3shape Dental System.

The basic training normally takes 2 days. Dental background is required to get the best benefit of the Training session.

Scanner and ScanServer

The D700 scanner is a precision instrument that requires proper calibration to provide consistent and quality scan result. You will learn how to operate the ScanServer software, focusing on:

• Starting ScanServer from Dental Manager;
• Calibrating the Scanner;
• Scanner maintenance.

Order Creation & Management - DentalManager

You will learn the function of the Dental Manager and how it drive you through the workflow process from initial order creation to scanning and modeling and outputting to manufacturing process including following topics:

• Understanding Dental Manager and the process workflow;
• How to create and order;
• Using Integrated Help;
• How to close an order;
• How to search for a previous order;
• Understanding the preview section;
• How to modify the order status;
• How to check out and import orders;
• How to check for new software updates;
• How to send a bug report.

Scanning Models - ScanItRestoration

You will learn the function and workflow of ScanItRestauration including scanning of:

• Single Die;
• Die and Neighborhood scan;
• Bridge scan;
• Antagonist scan - bite;
• Antagonist scan - model.

Modeling - DentalDesigner

You will learn the proper function and work flow of the Dental Designer. The layout of all toolbars, also the terminology for Dental Designer as well as:

• How to define the right margin line;
• How to create the perfect fit;
• How to use the Sculpt-Toolbar;
• How to properly go through the Modeling Process.

Following the general introduction you will learn to design:

• Single Coping;
• Full Anatomy;
• Anatomical Framework / Multi Layer;
• Telescope;
• Inlay & Onlay;
• Wax-up;
• Single individual Abutment.

Scanning Impressions - ScanItImpression

You will learn how to scan an impression including the proper function and work flow of ScanItImpression covering:

• Mounting instructions;
• Alignment process;
• Virtual trimming tools;
• Scan and trimming settings.

System configuration - Dental System Control Panel

You will learn how to configure the Dental System in the Dental System Control Panel including:

• How to change Language and tooth index system;
• How to add an Operator;
• How to add Customers;
• How to Add Remote Manufacturers;
• How to import & export new materials;
• How to Add a new Material;
• How to setup Frame elements in Material settings;
• How to update Dongles/find dongle number.
