Input from CAD/CAM systems or from the Scan Handling Module typically need further processing before it can be used as a basis for measurement, comparison and export to various third-party systems.
A number of curves and landmarks are automatically identified on the
3D last model. For example, the system can extract a center line drawn
manually on the physical shoe last. These curves are important to identify
the different parts of a last such as the inner/outer side, the sole
etc.
In order to ensure optimal precision, the user has the possibility to
manually adjust the detected curves and landmarks.
Automatic or manual alignment of the last in 3D space to ensure that
all 3D lasts are systematically aligned according to their toe and heel
height. This eases measurement and comparison performed in other 3Shape
last modules.
Various 2D section profiles can be extracted from the 3D last. Profiles
are important in order to identify last characteristics and can be exported
for use in external last design applications.
The system divides the 3D last into several 3D models based on the curves
and profiles detected in the preceding steps. The parts include inner,
other and bottom side of the last.
