Convince™ has been designed with user-friendliness as its key principle. Dialogs have been skipped – you can type measurement definitions directly in the 3D scene. Measurements are evaluated as you type. Menus adapt to only display valid choices. Standard procedures are automated – simply load a CAD model and a scan and see them aligned automatically. Users are able to get started with Convince™ without any specific training in the software.
Convince™ lets you easily evaluate all basic dimension and GD&T measurements, but also more advanced ones, such as position measurements with TED patterns. Axes can be datums. Tolerance zones are as in defined in ISO 1101, considering the entire point cloud.
In a globalized world, quality control across production sites and sub-suppliers requires a software package that eliminates subjectivity. Therefore, Convince™ provides access control to measurement definitions. Operators can only evaluate, but not edit measurement definitions. Filtering of supposed outlier points is by absolute criteria, with visual feedback and full documentation in the printed report.
Convince™ comes with a database back-end which keeps track of all parts’ measurements across the company. With full access control, Convince™ keeps a complete history of all edits of all measurement definitions. Statistical plots provide a rapid overview. Multiple scans can be evaluated in batches.
GD&T can be hard to learn. But with Convince™, you can avoid GD&T training costs, and even make training more focused. With its built-in eLearning capabilities, Convince™ illustrates GD&T principles directly on the part to be measured. For example, every datum alignment can be shown as an animation, and tolerance zones can be visualized for every measurement.
Quality Control of parts is not just about passing or failing, but should pinpoint errors and give valuable feedback to production and mechanical design. Following this philosophy, Convince™ combines GD&T and visual analysis tools. Any limiting sections of tolerance zones are highlighted. You can zoom into cross sections in synchronized 3D and 2D views.
Integration with 3Shape’s 3D laser scanners - Convince™ can read standard data formats (IGS, STL, VRML, XYZ). Integration with 3Shape’s scanners is particularly optimized. You can simulate the scanning process in the software to ensure full coverage. Then scan and evaluate all measurements with a single click on a button.
